Title: NEXT tech item
Post by: tbone on December 16, 2008, 10:40:54 PM
This one is nice and easy. Minimal equiptment is needed and it will defenatly give you a sense of achivement.
So to start with, as usual, gather a few essential items.
1. a mug
2. sugar
3. coffee
4. a spoon
5. milk
6. hot water

The first step is a matter of taste, so its up to you but i like 2 sugars in mine. So using our spoon we place 2 heaped spoonfulls of sugar into the mug. Using the same spoon follow this up with 1 spoonfull of coffee.

Again the next sep is optional, but i have the full works, so into the mug goes a splash of milk.
Doesn`t look much yet does it?

The next step is the trickiest so be carefull. Top up your mixture with hot water. Hot water is hot and will scold you if you spill it on your hands!
Finally finish off by giving it a good stir with your spoon

Just a technical issue here - adding the milk before the hot water doesn't work with all kinds of instant coffee.

Do not try this with Alta Rica!

Of course if you only have the inferior stuff..................

My Mrs puts the teabag in the milk before she pours hot water on. Does anyone else do this, or is she wierd?

Definatly milk in last when making tea.

Title: Re: NEXT tech item
Post by: klogan45 on December 27, 2008, 10:01:51 AM
Tea should alawys be made in a teapot, the milk should always be added to the cup before the tea is poured, just my opinoin but it does taste better. ;D ;D

Right here you go Klogan.

How to make a Cup a Soup.

I've chosen the Minestrone flavour Cup a Soup for my demo. There are lots of different flavours out there to choose from but all are made in the same way. I'm going to show you how to in this article.

First you select your sachet of Cup a soup, find a tea spoon, a mug and the Kettle

Title: Re: NEXT tech item
Post by: tazet on January 05, 2009, 09:06:39 PM
Fill the kettle with water and either plug in or put on the gas, (depends on the type of kettle you have), and bring to the boil.

Title: Re: NEXT tech item
Post by: tazet on January 05, 2009, 09:09:04 PM
While the kettle is warming up, empty the contents of  the sachet of chosen soup into your mug.

.

Title: Re: NEXT tech item
Post by: tazet on January 05, 2009, 09:13:42 PM
Once the kettle has reached boiling point then you are now ready to add the water to the mug. WARNING Water is very very hot and can scald you if you are not careful so please make sure you have a sensible adult present when doing this part.

Pour into the mug with the sachet contents in.

Stir the solution thoroughly so the powder is fully disolved. Some like to pour and stir at the same time.

All that's left to do is drink it  ;D

WARNING be careful when you first drink as it will be very very hot. I recomend leave it to stand for a few mins to cool down.

Post by: klogan45 on January 06, 2009, 06:35:40 PM
Thanks for the techy on making a cup a soup. There is one problem though, where do I find a sensible adult, all the adults that I know are a bit (well a lot to be honest) mental.
Before I progress to pouring the boiling water and stirring the soup should I practice with just cold water and a spoon and a mug? Perhaps I could simulate the soup by adding some milk powder.
Thanks again Tazet, your efforts will not be wasted I will definately be attempting the cup a soup as soon as I gain a bit more confidence. I will have to psych myself up for it coz as you say boiling water is very hot Boiling in fact)

Oh, I see.... I was a bit slow there ::) ::) ::) I saw the earlier post about the coffee ;D ;D
No hurry for the pot noodle item as at the moment my missus is fit and well and keeping me fed....well most of the time. It's just that I get a bit peckish now and again and have to wake her up to make me something to eat. Thats life eh!!!!
Sorry to hear that work has been hell, really, still look on the bright side it gets you out of the house for a while :o :o :o :o

If we don't get a thaw soon my back completley will go with lugging water canisters about and all I'll be eating from bed will be pot noodles as Manky is good at making them  ;D

Title: Re: NEXT tech item

Well I take my hat off to Manky (well I would if I wore one) he can cook as well as build brill trikes,  Well done sir, well done. Tick, V.G
Apparently its going to warm up by the week-end. You've got to look after your back, Tazet, coz it's the only one you'll get. Having said that you've got to look after the GeeGees too. Could'nt you put the water containers in a wheelbarrow? Might be a bit easier on you?  But you won't be able to do that if you knacker yourself, will you. Mind you, it sounds like the perfect excuse to get Manky running around after you, but don't tell him I said that, will you... ;D ;D ;D
Take care of yourself too ;) ;)
Regards
K

Title: Re: NEXT tech item

I won't tell him and I've been transporting the canisters around in the back of a V8 Discovery I buzz about in at work. Just killing to lift them in and out of it then onto the trough to empty them. The only tap that's not frozen on the estate is inside my boss's workshop so not mugh fun. Looking forward to the weekend.

Title: Re: NEXT tech item
Post by: klogan45 on January 07, 2009, 06:01:15 PM
You've probably thought of this already but just in case....
Why not fill the cannisters while they're in the truck coz it would be easier to lift them out than it is to lift them in. Just be careful that you don't overfill them.
Regards
K

;D Yup had thought of that and I do that if the hose is not frozen. Just had a complete day from hell and not long got in from work after doing a 13 and a half hour day and I'm just a little pooped to say the least. I've got the day off tomorrow so will do the pot noodle at lunch time.
