The joddled joints between the new roof skin & rear quarters have been expertly lead filled & smoothed off. Perfect. Just noticed Andy's also added the gutter rail on this side. See -told you it's easily missed. The top of the windscreen pillars have also been leaded, but no pics of that.

There's been stuff going on in the trunk too. Andy's rebuilt the spare wheel mount, (the odd little stepped bracket with 2 holes in it, at the back of the trunk). We may never use it as we have different sized wheels front & back, but as John pointed out, for the sake of a couple of hour's work, the body's complete & original, rather than missing a few brackets. Might as well be done before the body's painted. The jack mounts will be rebuilt too for the same reason.

He's also made up the rear light panel strengthening brackets, (the 2 wedge shaped plates on the trunk floor).

These "hockey sticks" were in a very sorry state; badly cracked & twisted. Thankfully Andy's managed to repair them -Taz got a quote from the Belgium Mopar parts supplier -just under 250 quid a pair!

Various nooks & crannies have been welded, brazed & lead filled. The roof's received a bit more de-denting & the passenger door skin's been smoothed out.

There's a bit of confusion over the gearchange & cente console mounts. The ones on the old floor panel don't seem to be in the right places, so we'll have to dig our console out of the heap of parts in the barn & take it over next time.

Mark's Charger, which has been sat on the opposite side of the workshop since ours arrived, has just had a quick coat of sealant/undercoat to protect it from rust. Looks completely different with some colour on it. More Mopar repair panels are becoming available all the time. When Mark's bodywork was done, the rear quarters were only available as a repair section for example. Taz's car has entire new quarters. Mark's join along the fold where the flat top of the quarter meets the vertical sides. The line of small holes between the back corner of the side windows & the boot is for a strip of chrome trim. This car will be fitted with a vinyl roof. We took along a pair of Taz's new tyres to check they'd clear the wheel tubs. No problem.

Alongside Taz's Charger, this Plymouth is slowly coming together. It's one of only 2 surviving original cars from the "Christine" film & worth a fortune. Repair panels just aren't available for it, so every piece is being fabricated by hand. The bonnet leant against it's from the blue £100,000 Ferrari we photographed the other day.

A Road Runner, (I love these. More boxy & un aerodynamic than a Charger, which makes them look more aggressive in my book).

Even parts like this axle casing are painstakingly filled, primed & sprayed for a perfect mirror finish.
