Thought I'd post some pictures of something I've been messing around with.

A mate built the frame and tried to get it working but not very successfully.

It's called a thumbnail shrinker. That's in reference to the die's and perhaps that if it has too long a stroke you'll shrink your own thumbnail.


Anyhow, after making various new bits for it and researching the dies shape and function.  I finally gave it a go tonight. I need to raise the speed a bit but as you can see from the item in the photo it seemed to work pretty well. Now to make stretching tools for it!

For now here are some more pictures.

I made another set of dies for it. Top one is made of Acetal and the bottom from an old hammer head

Then attacked the bit I shrunk the day before and had a go at a disk of Aluminium!
