I can't stop building stuff ?,but I'm slowing down

« on: August 28, 2015, 12:30:33 PM »

Well Mr Stix said he wanted me to post pics of my (other ) project ..I purchased it of Baz from Kent ..a very talented fabricator who sold up and moved to Lincoln /Norfolk area ?..I originally was going to fit a harley twin cam into it..but my son in law told me of a jap engine his mate had for sale ?
So off we went..a low (16000?) mileage GSXR 600 fuel injected ( running ) with loom and fuel pump..£200..was snapped up.."I'm sure I can get help/info off the owners club with wiring etc ?" ..yeah right think again ?..
So I decided to alter the frame..plonked the engine in and started using bits I had and parts off eBay ..it's a long term project as n when I'm feeling well enough or in the mood..the wiring has been the longest time consuming thing..everything seems ok..apart from main beam on the headlight ?
Iv got to fit the shims in the starter motor cover..then see if she starts?
But for now..under covers while I concentrate on the trike

Have you lost some of the rake in the neck? looks a bit shorter than the first pic with no motor in it? couldn't see the overall effect when I came round as it was under a cover mostly, or is that just an optical illusion?

Yes I altered it,basically to suit the springers forks I'd purchased..plus I thought the trail may have been out a tad ?..to be honest now iv put the tank ( an old bantam one iv had lying about ) on,I'm not happy how it looks..so it's defo on the back burner for now

I can see it is a bit special on the top tube but it might be more in proportion if the top tube was lowered a tad to lose the big gap over the motor.

The big gap is there to clear the stainless air box..when the tank is on you can't notice it

Sorry not that sort of way!    I'd love to ride a bike again but it's not a goer - can't hold a bike up with my left leg, quite apart from the arthritis situation.

No it was a temptation to say something about Harleys but I won't cos we're much too fuzzy and friendly on here!    Wink
