Don't you just hate talented people! Lookin' good Mick. A pink tape measure?! Don't tell Taz -she hates pink! We're wondering about shock absorber spring rates. Mick's going for an XS1100 Yam rear shock at the moment, but we're not really sure how much travel that'll have when the forks are mounted at 45 degrees in taz's frame. Anyone got any info on springs? Can you recommend a better shocker for the job?

A pink tape measure?! Yeah we've got one of those too - it was free on the front of a magazine. If it's free the pink doesn't count!

this is not a lesson in how to suck eggs thing. but i have seen girders at this stage before, look great btw. but then the end result has being spoilt by the front tube of the legs not been parallel to the steering stem. which causes all types of funny handling probs. in the past this has been overcome by having the lower link arms pivot point nearer to the steering stem. or in the case of ours by putting a bend in the front tube just before the upper link fixing point. Hi folks, yes i understand, i know girders can be funny to set up correctly, nice solution BTW, a few questions if i may. what length shocks are you using, what length neck stem, and what trail/rake set up are you going for? been my rotor-ed weekend to work but managed to finish turn neck stem , will post a pic later, off out now its my daughter's birthday so were having a party

Managed to recover from jelly overload , freeze fitted finished turned stem all looks good, just a bit of shaping to make it look better, left to do is make up lugs for forks and fit all spindles. then i can make up legs... then have a look at wheel.. not much if you say it fast Tazet's Trike project :) Tazet's Trike project :) Tazet's Trike project :)

Try this site for everything you need to know about girders http://www.chopperhandbook.com/neatstuff/index.html It has articles on many other bike related stuff that you may find useful plus free plans for springers and girders.
