Might just be a body change on a reliant chassis, in which case no MSVA/SVA/BIVA test!!

i'm sure i saw this on telly when they did a program about this race. pan american or summat like that. it blew the ends and got it repaired overnight in some back street garage, like the sort of thing you see in cuba

You shall be mostly thinking of La Carrera Panamericana....  Wink

The car in the photo is a 1954 Lincoln Cosmopolitan (5.2 litre V8). This particular one has been restored as a replica of its Panamerican sister car of 1954.... but looks good dunnit!!!!!!

Some original 1954 footage

Some modern footage with the 'old' cars. Some of these are basically NASCAR spec machines, and run 180+mph on the roads........ Shocked   (turn the volume up & listen to the engines to see/hear what these cars will do)

There's a VHS video still available which is about Nick Mason and Dave Gilmour of Pink Floyd in around 1997 doing the Panamericana in a couple of replica Jags.
Great video, and if you like Floyd, great music too.... still available.....
