If I can do anything to help let me know.

Trying to get hold of materials is difficult. You have to build up contacts and try to maintain them. Hard work Tongue

Will hopefully get a trike on the road meself soon Embarrassed

Have been thinking about slinging a VW together asap.

I've got a friendly sheet metal worker in Newbury, but with steel getting so expensive now it's getting tougher to pick up off cuts. Our first attempt at box making was on Flap's orange trike. Looks O.K now it's hung in the frame but the heat of the welder distorted it so it doesn't sit flat. I know you should do a million small tack welds & let it cool etc, but I'd rather make my own from something a little thicker which won't cause so many problems. Anyone near Basingstoke got a couple of square feet of 2mm steel sheet they don't want?

I'm waiting on a free VF750 Honda that's been promised to me. Will hopefully get that up & running before the good weather disappears! I could throw my trike together in a couple of weeks if I was desperate but I'd only end up being unhappy with it & pulling it apart again.

Got a sheet metal fabrication shop near me and get all my stuff from him. Cost a few quid but always has large pieces available and can cut em too.

I do have some that might be suitable for your requirements.

I got an E from the suzi/vw bloke, and he says the thing is chain driven. Don't know how but I bet it is complicated. He says he is doing a shaft drive next.

I'll come to you if you like -don't expect it delivered! No mad rush for it. Still sorting out the frame, but sometime in the next month or so would be fine.  Cheesy

No, not if I get there first!
Byz, hold fire on the sheet metal for now chap. Been chatting to Devon Tony on the 100% Biker forum. Says he can make me up a battery box if I give him the measurements for "a few drinks". If you happen to be in the area though, could do with some off cuts for general use. 2 - 3mm mild steel sheet. Will pay you for them obviously, but don't go out of your way to deliver them.
As Pete said, feel free to drop in. I live in a shoe box sized flat but can always find a nearby pub for a pint & a natter.
