Where the hell did all those years go? I want 'em back. Bumped into my ex wife today & ended up sharing lunch together & reminiscing about people & places. I left home at 19 to move in with her & was married by the time I was 21. Divorced 7 years later. She had a Vespa 90 when I met her & all her mates were Mods, (new wave, 1980s Mods). I was in a bike club & had a 650 Bonneville. Fortunately she saw the error of her ways & had soon moved on to proper bikes. We were lucky to be young & care free in the late 70s/early 80s when life was a lot simpler. Good times. She sent me a few scanned photos this evening.
Me, not long after we got married, on one of my XS650 Yams.

On a ferry, aged 19 & extremely drunk, heading to Cologne in Germany with a mate for a weekend on my beat up 650 Bonny. We were all out of focus in those days.

The missus on my '66 Bonny, maybe '79/'80. I was stopped for speeding on it, heading to the pub one night. The Copper told me I should be treating a lovely old bike like that with more respect & let me off. I had a Thruxton race tuned 750 Bonny motor in it from my mate's Slippery Sam race replica. Tassled white leather winkle pickers!

A camping trip down to Durdle Dor in Dorset. Me in the middle. The wife was blonde at the time & going out with Tony, the guy on the far left. He was killed on his brand new Bonny, (the one we're stood around), racing home from the pub one night. She was riding pillion when he went through a hedge full of barbed wire & into a field. She had to sit with him in the dark on her own as he bled to death. Damaged her hip in the accident & still limps now. We were already seeing each other by the time this pic was taken & married a year or so later. The colours being held up were from the bike club we stayed with in Germany. Forgotten their name -Road Warriors maybe. My 750 Bonny, with clip-ons & rear-sets, on the right.

Another weekend camping trip -see, I used to do the C word a long time ago. One of my XS650 chops & my wife's 750 Yamaha Seca. Check out the Transit van in the background. Now probably more of a classic than the bikes.

Blimey I have just realised you were only about 26 when I first met you. Building that Moggy pickup on your driveway. Where did that 30 years go?

Scary ain't it!
Mrs Field in our back garden on one of her XS650s. Not quite sure how many we had in all. Maybe 5 or 6. Tassled suade jacket & a EuroFrame hardtail chop with 6 bend pullback bars & 6" over forks!

Another XS650. They were a cheap bike when we used to buy them.

Love the pics Andy.Yep, where did the years go, me and swmbo were saying this the other day,as we were contemplating our eldest lad (32 eek!) and his mrs going to have a baby very soon, our first grandchild. Such good times back in the day, now we're on the slippery slope into you know where.Still like loud rock music and the odd drink or 3 though.Hey Ho!
