Hi all, I'm having a bit of trouble locating a Standard Ten or Eight steering box for the new race car, I am sure that there are others that will do the job but this is the one that works for sure. Now, it cropped up in conversation last night and was suggested that Reliants have a small ali' steering box however it's not something that I have ever taken any notice of and can't picture it. Has anyone got one that they could get some decent detailed photos of , preferably with a scale in shot ,and if it looks good what's the chances that there is one laying somewhere in that pile of stuff not wanted for current project but too good/interesting to throw out ? Also any other suggestions welcome, the Standard is great, really small , light , about as simple as is possible to get and fairly strong (only broken it twice this last year ) but there must be others. Steve ps , looked at VW, Rover and later Fords , all a bit big and heavy

Talking of steering boxes, If I get this Pop I want to run with the original front axle. Is there a better steering box than the original Ford one that I can fit? I have been told the originals are pretty crap.

I'm sure they used to use VW bus steering boxes.

What with Vw vans being in fashion at the moment, I belive the steering boxes are pretty pricey. Best get the parts from something the trendys dont want yet!

That'll be a Landy then. Flap's forever boasting of how he can strip & rebuild his from the ground up for about 52 pence.
