Is there anywhere you can pump in an old registration number and find out what it belonged to?

actually I doubt it as it's probably linked to the reg document which has stuff like owner's name and addy etc so it's prolly agin the data protection act

would be dead useful to find out new owners of previously owned vehicles - I'd try n buy my tiger back Tongue

www.mycarcheck.com/
Had an email from my brother giving the above. Tried my trike reg & it came up as Reliant Rialto. Free basic check, pay site for more detailed info. Steve says he's got the address for a better site along similar lines too & will send me it when he remembers. He's not a shy bloke but I can't seem to persuade him to post here himself. Knows lots of clever stuff though! Cheesy

You can get history of currently registered vehicles from the DVLA or whatever they call themselves at present (or you could last time I checked, it may have changed now their system is different), that's not what I'm after.

I want somewhere that can look at an old registration (one thats defunct) and tell you what the vehicle was, ie, the reg no of my dad's old bike!

Tried my Mum's old Anglia reg & mycarcheck.com/ couldn't find any record of it so guess it only covers current stuff.

Steve says the other site was mentioned in this Sunday's Guardian Motoring section if anybody's still got it. Someone had used it to track their grandfather's old Riley, so might be more what you're looking for BG.
The Guardian. See, that's why he's cleverer than me. I'm just a Daily Mail bloke meself.

I've never read it. Way too intellectual for the likes of me.
Actually I rarely buy a paper & don't even own a TV. Radio 2 & the 'net for me.
