Grin Yeah, but I won't be in the Pop -it'll be off the road till the end of March for a Winter tidy up.
The hotrod swapmeet to go to. I try to get there every year. It's as much a social get-together with fellow builders you haven't seen all Winter as a serious parts gathering trip. Well worth a look though -all manner of wonderous things for sale, both vintage & brand new. Lots of trade stalls as well as parts sellers.
Be warned though- Essex Arena in early March is possibly the coldest place on Earth!

A good day out at the swapmeet today. As always, people to chat to, things to buy, piles of rusty old tatt to be rummaged through.
For once the weather was actually O.K -the Essex Arena can be a desolately cold & windswept place but today we were treated to pale Spring sunshine. As busy as ever. We arrived half an hour after the gates opened, after stopping at the new Cobham services on the M25 for breakfast. So we avoided the traditional shuffling queue to get in, although a motorcycle motorcross meet going on at the same venue meant a queue to get into the carpark instead. Mr Loon, Chris, ("Forgotten"), & me in my car, with PD & Ryan, ("Munk"), following. Ryan had driven all the way from Cornwall just for this meet, looking for parts for his Volvo Amazon.
Loony picked up a nice crescent shaped speedo from a '53 Ford Customline, plus a set of shiney new spindles for his Rover rod project. He also bought a pinstriped blow torch from Seaside Neil for his striping collection.
Chris found an illuminated American pedestrian crossing sign to hang on his wall & a window frame for his Moggy Minor.
I bought enough tuck n roll material to finish upholstering the cab of my truck, a new driver's door handle, plus a heap of cutting discs & flapwheels for the workshop.
We drove in alongside PantherShaun & his new lady & bumped into Chevy Rick & Jay Jay later in the day. Nice to see you guys.

Sunbeam coupe. Slightly odd dimensions & no Shaun, I wasn't keen on the skinny wire wheels!
