Methanol and powder-coating - compatable?
«

Anyone aware if, or how, powder-coating is affected by Methanol?
I’m helping out with a drag bike resto, soon be time for ‘paint’, and the owner’s thinking of going down the powder-coating route, but there are concerns as to what would happen if there are Methanol splashes on the coating.
Thanks for any help.

Think most powder coats are or were nylon based and these would not like being subjected to methanol. Might be a case of getting something small coated and trying it.

We're going down that route too, just wondering if anyone has first-hand knowledge.
