Any one know how to make very short Speedo cables?

I need one about 8" long.

Ideas ?

Custom Fasteners sell speedo cable extenders, in 6, 8 & 10 inch lengths. Basically a short cable that screws to the end of the original, for use with extended forks etc. That'd do the job.

Bought one of these cables but sadly it won't work, as the fittings are different so going to attempt to fabricate my own one.

the local bike shop has universal ones you make your self to what ever size you want they are shut on mondays so be tuesday before i could get a price
iv used them before for mounting clocks on my mudguards before with no problem

doc phoned along today to see if i could get him but the boy that deals with the custom bits was out on a recovery
he phoned me later on the way back that he wouldnt make it back to the shop today
so he is going to check and see what he has lying about tomorrow so will let you know then
