Hi All

Thought it would be courtesy to say hello before I start posting.  My name is Andy, I was a biker many years ago and have decided to build a trike with my 13 year old son, so he knows how to handle tools and learns something about mechanical things.

We are both newbies, and as I had a few reliants in my time, we are having a bash at a reliant based trike.

No doubt there will be tears and tantrums on the way, he will have to put up with me being like that though Smiley

Right now we have just stripped the donor vehicle and started collecting components.

I will be asking many questions, I hope you dont mind

Andy

Hi Andy
Welcome to the mad house  Smiley Which part of the country are you based in?
Our leader Manky Monkey is also an Andy and I'm sure he will be here soon to welcome you aswell.
Good luck with sourcing parts and your trike build.

Just had thought, if your stripping a Reliant maybe someone here might like the steering box for a hotrod.. that is if you wanted to get rid of it Smiley

Hi All

Thanks for the welcomes  Smiley

Im just north of Bury, near Manchester.

So far the only parts I am interested in are, as you would expect, engine and associated parts, gearbox, prop and rear axle.

The Reliant was in a very sorry state, in fact the engine is still seized and I cant get the head off, so its a mountain of work needed.

If anyone wants any other parts feel free to ask, most are useless, but the steering box is fine - just ask!

I'm not interested in selling em, free to pick up anything that has any life left in it.

Cheers

Andy

Hello n welcome Andy and hi to your son too.
It`s a good idea having him help with the build, we all started somewhere and I wish I was given a similar opportunity at a young age.
Hopefully the 2 of you will have lots of fun with it, as learning is easier if it`s fun.
Anyhow, lot`s of clever people around here, along with some clever dick`s  Grin.

"I will be asking many questions"

-& we will be giving many answers. Most will be silly, wrong or about a completely different subject, but some might actually be of some use to you.
Welcome to our fluffy little world of mankiness matey.  Wink
How many Andys does that make now? I used to think I was unique -some would say spethial -but there's dozens of the buggers in here.
Hope your son's not called Andy too?
