I picked a Savage (of unknown quality) up after selling the Gixxer. I've got more chance of keeping my licence on this!?! Although work is manic at the moment, I've chipped away at this and today it fired into life.............and sounds great!!! A quick before and after shot: Clive's Savage The very nice man I bought it from gave me another (minus the engine) as 'spares', so that's going to be built into a hardtail chop whilst this gets ridden!! Lots of little things done. Converted to chain drive for starters, cam chain tensioner modded to allow mor life from the chain, electrics moved into the air box, and all the other bits that you can see.

That's pretty Clive. How'd you do the shaft/chain conversion?

Was a belt/chain conversion buddy.
A simple (well it has to be, I did it) swap of pulleys for sprockets. GS550 ones fit with no modification, then just a 530/110 chain

very nice Clive, saw it on savage forum but didn't realize it was you. now that i've looked at your user name it makes sence ofcourse.
Have plans to mod mine now that i have the shadow. i've found it hard to get the right oil over here but it does make a difference to the clutch.Nice bike to ride but gives you a numb bum after a while with the standard seat, also i get cramps in my hands after more that about 40 miles.let me know how your seat works out.
sounds like you've done the most important mod anyway as have i so you sould have no other issues,i@ve had mine for 8 years now and the only breakdowns i've had were a blown fuse and i hade the tank of one and forgot to put the fuel pump vaccum hose back on and effectivly ran out of petrol! my fault not it's
good luck with it i hope you enjoy it and glad to fine another savage owner on the forum.i don't think there are many of these about
oh and where did you get the paint for the white walls

Never owned a whole Savage,(LS650?), but my last trike had Savage forks. Can I be in your club? I uprated the forks with progressive Harley springs by the way.

Nice, big diameter tubes, but too soggy for a trike.
