Lift kits probably cost about 500 quid unless you can find a used set and no mater how you lift it or how high the handling will be affected. You could just fit bigger tyres with a higher profile and trim the arches. On my land rover I had 235/70/16 tyres, they are 29 inches tall. I fitted 235/85/16 they are 32 inches tall, instant lift. You can go extreme and fit some about 6 inches taller than the ones you have on there. Fit tyres, trim arches, job done  Smiley

Ok now that sounds very doable, couple of questions as per normal lol.

Is the cutting back of the wheel arches as easy as it sounds? and are these 235/85/16 tyres easy to get hold of as part used's.

and has anyone got a spare can of olive/khaki paint

I'm running 235/85/16 tyres on my Landie plus parabolic springs which has given it quite a lift Grin
You can get remoulds for around £50.00 each, had the set on mine for around 7 yrs and still going strong.

Have a look here http://www.jeepclub.co.uk/faqs.cfm?id=6 by the look of it you can't fit very big tyres to a jeep without a suspension lift  Sad so sell it and buy a Land Rover  Grin

Go and take a look on www.supertrux.com they do lifting coils for the front and raised shakles for the back. possibly do a body lift kit too. Search for jeep cherokee on there otherwise youll be there for hours! Dont look at the prices for the complete kits! Shocked

Shaun, do parabolics make a big difference in ride quality? going to get some for mine soon. I've been using remoulds for years too, had them on my Land Rovers and a few cars, 50 quid Landie size, 22 quid car size. Bargain.

Them will be good, I reckon you'd be able to get a large set of tyres under them. Some cheep wide 8 spoke wheels, they have a big offset and some huge tyres.

I bought remoulds for the trikes from here:
http://www.tyresdirectuk.co.uk/
Next day delivery & pretty cheap, (30 quid each for 225/50/15s).
Think they've got an off road section but don't know if they do mad sizes.

Flap, the parabolics were the second best thing I have fitted to my Landie, the best is the 2.8 Diahatsu diesel, 35+ mpg and will cruise over 70mph.
The springs give you a softer ride, she corners better as the front wheel doesn't tend to lift and it gives you around 3inches of lift, only down side I have found is that she is to tall to fit in most carparks (6' 6") when fitted with the soft top.

Will get some parabolics soon. What dampers did you use? Need a new engine in mine, did you use a conversion plate and use the series gearbox? If you hear of anyone selling an engine and plate for a bargain price can you let me know, always fancied a Ford V6 but might get a 200 tdi, they are always up for sale now. Bolt straight on to a series gearbox too.
