HI GUYS NEED A BIT OF INFO ON MY NEW BIKE ITS AN 1100 VIRAGO IT WILL START NO PROB PULL LIKE AN EXPRESS TRAIN OVER 2,000RPM USES ABOUT THE SAME AS MANUAL SAYS MPG BUT ON SHUT OFF IT SOMETIMES BANGS AND POPS ANY IDEAS WHERE TO SOLVE THE PROB CHEERS

with our savages it's an adjustment thats needed to the carb so i'd guess thats much the same for any bike,i have an 100 shadow with sotgun pipes on it and i backfires a lot too so i'm guessing the carbs need set to suit the exhausts. is you bike standard or mod'ed

anyway all the best with it and safe riding

Back-firing on the over run's usually a sign of a leaking exhaust isn't it? (air being drawn in when the exhaust gases slow).

When it pops and bangs on the overrun I believe it's not technically backfiring - an actual backfire sounds like a shotgun going off!
