Hi folks?
What's you opinion on using a lsd on a trike? and I mean the axle type lsd not the other one!!
I was always under the impression that there is not enough weight for it to operate properly, is that correct or twaddle?
cheers

Ask yourself why it might need one? An lsd is to ensure drive to both wheels, maybe when moving off, or going round uphill hairpins.
If your trike has massive power and is likely to wheelspin all the time maybe yes. But you need to know what the downfalls are - if it's anything other than a Torsen type it will likely cause understeer, ie driving straight on through the scenery - is this worth risking?
My feeling is no.

Cheers for the reply.
The reason I am asking is that it seem's easier for me to get an limited slip diff opposed to standard, although it is the standard I want as was worried about some of the things you have mentioned and never thought about the others!
Am not in rush so will just wait until I get what I want

I would have thought lsd would be ok. A power lock diff would give handling problems on corners and roundabouts.
