Sorry mate. I did post it here!
Apparently it was busy yesterday, (I was at a Mopar meet in Surrey). A little quieter today, but plenty of action on the strip. Photos just can't convey the ground shaking thunder of these motors. I don't really follow the racing much -I just like to wander around & soak up the atmosphere. Weather was good, I bought a couple of ratchet handles from the tool stall & the pork burgers were fantastic.

'68 Dodge Charger.
I'm trying to sell a '69 at the moment. Had a chat with these guys about it & keeping my fingers crossed that they might phone me about viewing it. Would be a fitting end to the Charger saga.

Scottie's diesel taxi engined Chevy sedan & 2 litre Pinto powered "Tiki Munki".
The clutch went on his recovery truck while he was there. Had to get the family, the truck, the race car & their caravan back to Berkshire somehow. Hope you got home safely guys.

A very nice man from the AA relayed Scottie's truck & the Munki home, while they drove the Chevy. The caravan stayed onsite.

Plenty more chances during the year Mike. I usually only do the Hotrod Drags & the Nostalgia Nationals, which are the 2 big rod related drag race meets at Shakey, (Shakespeare County Raceway). I was just at a loose end today & fancied a drive somewhere.
"Garys Picnic" is an American car drag meet & used to be held at Santa Pod in Bedfordshire. Personally, I don't like the Pod & only go to Shakey. It was a good day.

This Moggy Minor traveller Police "Panda Car" was gorgeous. Seen it a few times in the last year or so. Apparently it broke a con rod at Santa Pod today. The rod punched through the bottom of the sump, coating the rear wheels in oil. It rolled. Fortunately the roll cage did it's job & the driver escaped with just bruises. A real shame. The spectators put more than £1000 in a donation bucket to help rebuild it.
