OK, so it's this weekend and this was the scene at Beaulieu this afternoon. After a forced "just display mode" for the last couple of years, the car will be attending Dragstalgia in fire up operation. Some damage had occurred to the motor a couple of years ago, but with help from Rob Loaring at I.C.E, it has been rebuilt back to it's original 1964 spec to run methanol (rather than the nitro it was running on when first "restored"). It was first fired up last week, and we were just carrying out some service work today to ensure reliable operation over the weekend. If you go you'll find it in the "Historic Marquee".

Well this is what happened over the weekend, after a few static fire ups Friday, Saturday and Sunday morning the car was taken down to the line, fired up and DRIVEN down the 1320!! This was a little bit of history in the making.

Great to see the footage of her running again.

Here's some old B&W footage at Brighton Speed Trials with Sydney at the wheel.
