I remember Malcolm doing that in an old Ogri cartoon. Ogri flatted his casing on a sheet of glass. Malcolm used glass from a bathroom window -with a raised pattern on it

In Bike magazine's Ogri cartoon strip, Paul Sample hardly ever drew the frame of a motorcycle.
Apparently one of his trade marks.

Always fancy building something with an Enfield single, due to the simplicity and availability of parts, typically I've never found a motor for sale
