To get back to Pinball Wizard, Taz & I hired a van & took a trip up to Derbyshire yesterday. Went to see the current owner, Pete Le Grice. The Wizard's had a succession of engines over the last 35 years & currently runs a 440 Dodge Charger unit. When Pete bought the car 7 years ago it had a 383 Charger motor. A chance conversation with him at the Billing rod show last weekend, saw it being offered to us -for free. Pete's convinced it should just drop in & run. Check Taz's Charger thread in the Hotrod Tech bit for more snaps, but here it is, sat in our barn awaiting a service & check over.

Woohoo! What a bit of luck!
A lot less work to get that one in and running, then the builup pf the 440 can be done as and when, hope the 383 works out for you!

Thanks Bobbi yes what a stroke of luck. The pile of bits that I have is a 383 too not a 440 so the new engine and the pile of bits are the same size etc so will use the bits as spares.

The Wizard losing?! Must be a fault with your camera!
I heard a rumour recently that drag racing might start again at Blackbushe, (just outside Camberley, Surrey). Handy for us if it did as we're only just up the road.

must have been the warm up road, as there is a car going the other way if you look closely.
dont think that happens on a drag strip

it was Blackbushe, all manner of strange things happened there, it also looks like they were racing in the rain, again, not unusual back then
