Welcome to the site Drag_Addict.  Grin Very nice bike you have there. Manky says is it an XS500 or SR500 Single?
Any chance you can put fingers to keyboard and send some pictures with a write up? Manky is always looking for more bikes to feature in the Motors/two wheel section on the main site. Grin

Oh and Shaun, stop fishing! Funny though as I opened this thread and Manky and I looked at the first picture, we both said that "Shaun would like that" and sure enough we scrolled down and you were the first reply.

Thanks fer being so welcoming.
Mankey's almost right, it's mostly XT 500 (front-half of the frame, motor, forks & 21" front wheel) with hacked-about rear frame holding a 16" Rickman rim. That's a Triumph tank & an old Harley sprung seat. The oil is now contained in a stainless tank which a very talented mate of mine made for me copied from a cardboard model I gave him. His work is so perfect, the tank looks seemless and he machined a nut & bolt for the filler. He also made the rear mudguard frame. Bike's taxed & tested (day time use only) and is perfect for blasting around town.
When I got a little more time I'll write some more and send some close-ups.

Hang loose

Hiya D.A, Wink Are you a drag fan? Would we have bumped into you at a race meet somewhere?
As t'missus said, welcome to Mankydom. Tis indeed a nice bike. Very clean & simple. Doesn't look like we can teach you much. If you could email us a couple more pics, maybe including one of you with it & close ups of any unusual features, along with a slightly more in depth version of your description, we'd be very pleased to add you to the Motors, 2 Wheels section of the main site. Then you can help inspire others to get out there & build something.
Nice to have you aboard Sir.
