Title: Twisted Patience at 21 Post by: TwistedPatience on August 29, 2020, 06:27:53 AM Hi all
Thought you would like to know the trike passed her 21st consecutive MOT yesterday. Not an everyday ride now since I changed jobs in January but still ride when I have the energy. After a horrendous start yesterday when I found I had lost my debit card (for the second time this year) I managed to borrow the wife's card got some cash and headed for Chard about 20 miles away. Not 3 miles down the road the heavens opened and within seconds was soaked to the skin despite waterproofs. Not a good omen I thought. The trike then ran on anything between one and 4 cylinders until I'd cleared the water and the sun came out. Now on all 4 literally steamed all the remaining miles to the MOT station and as I was a bit late the doors to the barn where already opened, I rode straight in on to the brake tester. 45 mins later and 38 quid poorer I emerged with the 21st MOT pass certificate. Rode home damp but delighted. Next milestone 25 Years. The only thing I had to do to pass this year was to put some grip on my foot pegs as i have smooth brass, so in a bit of a panic I put 5 jubilee clips on each that way I can take them off when I want, when I get time I will drill and tap them and put a two rows of SS bolts along the length to aid grip. Suns out so I may get some photos later, kids and wife allowing Keep the rubber on the road guys an gals. Yours must surely be one of the longest surviving trikes on the roads by now. Title: Re: Twisted Patience at 21 Post by: merv on August 30, 2020, 08:56:53 AM Hi Twisted
Can yo give us a close up of how the axle is fitted please Title: Re: Twisted Patience at 21 Post by: TwistedPatience on August 30, 2020, 09:02:30 AM Will take a pic when I get back from taking the kids bowling but its just welded to two plates, with semicircular cutouts 20mm thick.

Also glad to hear you are all well. Shows the years are passing if the children can now bowl. :) Title: Re: Twisted Patience at 21 Post by: merv on September 01, 2020, 04:41:44 PM Thanks
Title: Re: Twisted Patience at 21 Post by: BikerGran on September 02, 2020, 10:48:16 PM Wish I still had that pic I took of you zooming along the lane near the campsite on that Cornish trip, the trike looked EVIL! In the best possible way of course. 8)
Well I do have it somewhere, but it was pre-digital so finding it would be tricky! Title: Re: Twisted Patience at 21 Post by: TwistedPatience on September 04, 2020, 11:07:14 AM JJ tell me about it, Scarlett is 10 today!
Title: Re: Twisted Patience at 21 Post by: JayJay on September 11, 2020, 06:27:00 PM JJ tell me about it, Scarlett is 10 today! Oh wow. Time flies. Unless you don't like posting pics of them I'd love to see a recent pic of her and Alexander. Title: Re: Twisted Patience at 21 Post by: TwistedPatience on September 12, 2020, 08:21:47 AM Sure
Title: Re: Twisted Patience at 21 Post by: JayJay on October 19, 2020, 04:38:05 PM Thanks for that. I haven't been on here since I asked. Lovely to see them. I think the last photo I saw of Alexander was not long after he was born. I think Scarlett looks like you. Is she building a trike yet? :) Mind you, it's ages since we saw you. I think the last time was at Shepton Mallet when you were on a MAG stand upstairs. Did anything ever happen about those manhole covers you were hoping to get councils to use on roads? Funnily enough, I came across the leaflet you gave me about them only the other day.
