I can't tell you the distance that is being timed.
But the the distance from post to post will be two miles.

Thanks Hunter,

If the 'post to post' is the total length of the sand the club have, that could mean a 1/2 mile acceleration followed by a 1/2 braking, which could mean a standing 1/4 followed by a flying 1/4 (as was run in the left lane at RAF Odiham ran in 2011).

Be interesting to find out.

I think its the timing posts cover a 2 mile stretch, I will find out but they are using SCTA regs so I'm guessing a mile or so run up and same for slowing down.. and timed over a mile... have asked the question and will get back to you asap...

If they make it much longer the tide will be in before you reach the other end.

Ok so i have booked a caravan on the Pendine caravan park its the one closest to the beach and have a spare twin room going i only want to cover my costs so if anyone is interested please get in touch. The price for the room is £100 for the weekend and you get access to all the facilities on the site i would prefer someone to take the room and not just the one bed (unless you want to pay for the empty bed)
There will be five of us in the van if someone takes the other room so there should be plenty of room as the van sleeps up to eight. Anyway PM me if you want any details or to jump on board  Smiley
Dan

Room has gone thanks  Smiley

The website http://www.pendinelrc.com/ has just included an entry form (resttricted to pre 1990 machines)

http://www.pendinelrc.com/rules-and-regs/

Entry is shown as £140 for the two days and includes club membership.

The website says (as of 03-03-13):
Our rules will be available shortly, we have been given the rights to use the SCTA Regulations and these will be provided to club members and to every entrant, but if you are building a bike -either NSA or SCTA Regulations are a good starting point:we will be using SCTA regs exclusively in the future, please check with us if there are any areas of doubt.
