«

afternoon all.
anyone now of anywhere that either might have as stock or could make a splined out-put flange?.
So a female internal splined cup with a flange at one end that could bolt to a prop UJ?
cheers

I tell you where you'll find one of them - on the back of a pan-european, connected to the rest of the shaft. Cut and shut my friend, been done times over?

Why not mod. a Pan output shaft? as to have one made as a "one off" will be extremely pricey!.... to put it mildly!!...Morrag

After lots of searching I'm starting to think it might have to go the cut and shut route. Will try to find someone to cut the spline cup off the ujs and weld a plate to it. The original ho da uj is now no good at the angle the prop is now set at and is knocking on it's self. If I can get the flanged cup made it means a better uj with a greater working angle can be used and will have a happier prop.

On the drive shaft from the axle it should be under spring tension when it slides onto the uj

That's why many trikes have an offset diff. The shorter the trike, the bigger the problem.
Even using UJ's with a wider operating angle, be cautious of extreme angles at high RPM and make sure the prop is fully balanced. If you are using a live axle, check the angles at both extremes of axle movement.

Be careful not to ignore this - holding some tension on the splines is important to pevent the slack causing run out and vibration - had this on my kawasaki splined drive prop.
