Pulled a small job at the Tungsten mine yesterday and they have Electric trucks. Speaking to the engineer and he reckons that with the new technology available they are able to get 100 miles and 60mph out of the newest one, interesting thing is they dont half shift to get up to speed, not like the old milk floats. Leccie hot rod anyone??

There's an electric VW drag car in the Motors section of the main site:

I think it's come on quite a long way since we featured it.

A message from my brother, Mr Brock:

Sam and Ollie, (the VW Beetle builders), went on to hold a world record for quickest "street bodied" electric car, apparently also beating a Veyron in a 0 - 60 test, somewhere in the 1.5 second region. It's also worth a quick search on Google for Don Garlits' new venture, a fully developed electric dragster. Pretty impressive.

Quick electric vehicles have been out there for a while. The reason that they accelerate so quickly is because maximum torque is available as soon as the "throttle" is cracked.

I'm impressed, now down to the cost factor and the help with the requirements. Think I may just have a base vehicle to play with.
