Title: Axle ratio selection Post by: paulywombats on February 09, 2017, 06:51:54 PM Hi Monksters
I have a Honda ST1100 that's about to go through gender re assignment surgery from bike to trike. The final ratio is 2.833, would I be correct in thinking it would be ideal suited to a Rialto mk2 axle (B)? If unavailable at this time would 'A' axle be ok to use? Comments very welcome. I ran a 2.78 on my gl1500 running at 70mph@3200rpm changed it to a 3.23 now running at 70mph@3800rpm on 205x55x15 tyres Title: Re: Axle ratio selection Post by: paulywombats on February 22, 2017, 09:56:32 PM Why did you swap to 'A' axle?
Title: Re: Axle ratio selection Post by: terry t on February 22, 2017, 10:21:54 PM Why did you swap to 'A' axle? Where the b type is the same as the bike. I felt the revs didn't fill right for the trike with the b axle on. so swapped for the a type even though the revs went up it felt better pulling away and riding at low speeds but still has the power to pull away Title: Re: Axle ratio selection Post by: paulywombats on February 22, 2017, 11:40:00 PM Quite a bit more weight compared to the bike, make sense.
Thanks for your views Terry, very helpful on here. |
