Title: VW Engine
Post by: nabsim on March 21, 2011, 01:51:55 PM
I eventually got the engine off my trike on Saturday and as I thought it may be the flywheel is almost hanging off, (overnight it suddenly developed a quarter inch or so of end float). While it is lose the nut is still too tight to move so I need to aquire a 36mm socket this week. In the manual it says if the holes in the flywheel that the 4 dowels locate in are oval a new flywheel is needed. What if the engine side holes are oval, is this something that is easily replaced or is it the end of the crank? Wasn't sure from manual and I cant see until I remove flywheel/
