Just been chatting to the lovely Kim Limb down at the Royal Bath & West showground in Shepton Mallet, Somerset.
I've booked the same 50 feet long display space in the trike hall at the show that we had last year. Just gotta find something to fill it with now!
The traditional season opening show, this one's been on the calendar for donkey's years under various names & managements. Not as big as it once was, but still a good day out. The main display areas for custom & classic bikes & trikes are indoors so unaffected by our dodgy British weather, with plenty of outside trade stalls & attractions too.
Weekend camping available.

Ill be going, they sent me an inviteand it would be rude not to go after they asked! I never knew they cared! Dad wondered if he could stick his trike on the end of your plot!

I'm rostered to work but I might take a bit of leave, I've been asked to help on the NABD stand, and tho I'm not a rep any more I still intend to do what I can.

Give Mrs Limb a ring & ask if she can put you next to our bit. Not sure what we'll have to show off -probably Ska Man & Flap's again, though both will be running this year & both have had a few changes since last time, plus mine, at whatever stage it's at, maybe Simon's black one again, which should be up & running by then, possibly SaddleBags' rolling chassis. Maybe Critch's or Toad's -who knows.

i would love to attend this show,and if i had a rolling chassis by then i'd push it all the way there myself ;D ;D trike powered by saddlebags it'll never catch on.

I need to get seperate entry forms for each trike so if you guys want to be there let me know soon please. Limited space though so can only really have half a dozen or so on show.
Last year we showed Rainbow's GS850 trike as a rolling chassis & my own frame as a bare bones frame on stands. Got a lot of interest from the punters -made a change to see works in progress rather than finished show bikes. So yup Mr Bags, your chassis would be good. Maybe we could make up a set of giant axle stand thingies to really show off your frame.

3B's ?  May ? ....   not Newbury or Fools an' Bikers. Am I missin' one of their parties. Newbury is Easter weekend an' F an' B is towards the end of June.

Just received my vehicle pass in the post. Just the one. They were supposed to be sending them all to me. Anyone else got theirs? I'll give 'em a ring & check what's going on.

I'm pissed off with them >:(, have left several messages for them to call me back so I can book tickets with no response at all ::). Gave them there last chance yesterday and have now booked a couple of days away in the camper instead ;D.

Well, so far we have Skaman stuck on the side of the road near thruxton, Flap was wiring in a ballast resistor so his trike will stop cooking the points, before he left( dont worry, reg was helping!). Our trike made it all of 2 miles before the mudgaurd caught on the tyre and ripped a big hole in it. With no proper spare we cant make it down. Lets hope manky has made it safely with his and saddlebags trikes in his hired lorry!
Oh well, at least we will see you down there on sunday, I might go down tomorrow with manky but it looks like work will get in the way! Again!

Haven't had time to post anything on the forum over the weekend -been travelling up & down the A303 in a variety of vans all weekend, back & forth to the showground.
A full photo gallery, plus a second one concentrating on our journey there, to follow soon, but we're off to a rod run this morning so it'll have to wait till we get home.

Had a great time ;D   Met up with Andy and Flap at  the service station near popham and rode down with them because i am too good at getting lost ::)

Was great meeting up with you again :)  It was nice to meet Sadddlebags and his other half and Byzmax and other half.

I agree with what the others have said, its a lot smaller then when we went last year.

Coming back home was fun.  I rode behind the 3 trikes.  They looked really good, seeing them all together 8)

Weather stayed good for the trip home, only a few spots of rain when we stop for a coffee.

Oh thats the funniest thing I've read in a long time - bet that took the smile off his face after winning a trophy.  Poor flap!!!

Yup, two casualties over the weekend -SaddleBags managed to slash his hand with a penknife while untying his trike in the back of the hire van -& Flap lost his favourite CartMan hat, which I ran over too, at 80 mph in the van. 

Still not had a chance to sort out everything from the weekend. I'll post full photos & some words very soon I promise.

Spent the weekend at the Southwest show this weekend with Mrs Byzmax and the kids and in the company of the MankyMonkey crew.

A Big thankyou to Andy for allowing me to display my Beach Bastard and XS11 Trike alongside the MankyMonkey Trikes!

Congrats to Flap for getting the Runner up Honours for his Orange reliant Trike. Sorry to hear about the demise of your hat though

Thanks also to Scott, Jo, Simon, Nigel, lunatic and his Dad, Flap, Rainbow Yoda and all the rest that I have not listed for making it a great weekend.

To my utter amazement I got a highly commended for the the Beach Bastard.  Somewhat suprised as I've never shown owt before!

Sadly the show itself gets smaller each year and whilst it is does not come close to what it was 15 years ago it was a good first experience for the kids and although only a few hundred camped the whole weekend there were a huge amount of day trippers.

My thanks go to all of those that took time to look at my creations and those of the Manky Crew and their positive comments.

Been stupidly busy for the last couple of weeks. I enjoyed Shepton too, but you're right, it's only a sad shadow of it's former glory. The general consensus seems to be that a change of management & the cancellation of the camping a few years ago have killed it off. Even though camping was re-instated after a couple of years, it was too late. People have found other shows to go to. We made our own entertainment though & everyone seemed to enjoy themselves. Piccies soon, honest!

I had just put my pic of the show to disk and had to find a case for it.  The first one I picked up and opened,  had a disk  in it that Andy had sent me of last years show.  Weird :o ;D
