Some of the first concept drawings by Gareth. Not all measurements were known at this time. D72 British Bellytank Bit more info fed into the model. I have no idea how this stuff works, I fit security systems / carpets for a living and have an absolute hatred for Pc's or smart phones.

D72 British Bellytank Now having never built a bellytank before or knowing anyone who had, the internet came up with this example. Seemed the simplest way without using hoops for the chassis as many others had done. So this was used as a rough guide as not wanting/taking credit for someone else,s design. Purchased 18mtrs of 1"5/8 cds for safety cell and 1"1/2 for the rest.

D72 British Bellytank D72 British Bellytank Bolted engine, gearbox and axle together so we could check the distance from floor to bottom of sump and to the bottom of the rear axle. Then made mounts on the chassis jig to hold axle and engine at the correct height.
