Title: Snow baby snow.
Post by: Manky Monkey on January 24, 2007, 09:59:09 AM
Woke up to a thick blanket of snow this morning -our first this year down here in glorious Basingstoke. Fortunately it's my day off so I don't have to trudge the streets in it, but it didn't take long to dissolve into grey, grubby slush.
Ah well, it was nice while it lasted.  :)

Who's gonna be the first to build a snow monkey then?
A free mug to the best one.
How about a piccie of a snowman in a MMMotors shirt for the December page of the calendar?

Snow was thick on the ground here too. There is still some around but not enough for a decent picture now. Perhaps tomorrow if it snows again will arm myself with a camera as the estate is so beautiful when it snows.  ;D

Build a full sized snow figure, dressed in a MMMotors T shirt, leant against one of your barns or something so it supports his weight. Or stood next to the trike.

No snow here.  We almost never get snow (apart from a few flakes) but if we do it's usually in February.

I hate the stuff!  Just makes life difficult, specially when you're a shift worker travelling home at 2am along country roads.

Nice to see that bunny living a proper bunny life in the garden.  I haven't got a bunny at present but I've had them for years and always let them run loose.

One time when our bunny died I talked to a woman who was re-homing rabbits, she wouldn't let me have one cos I was going to leave it loose, too much danger of being eaten by a fox.  I told her I thought it was better for the rabbit to have a proper life, even if it was a short one.  She thought about it for a couple of weeks then rang up and said she thought I was right, she'd never looked at it that way before!

We have 2 rabbits, both have free run of the Garden. Got them from the RSPCA where they had been for around a year. Noone wanted Hermione the Rabbit in the photo as she is an Albino rex. But she is brilliant fun and loves to rummage around in my workshop whilst I'm fixing the bikes..... ;D

Talking of which, I'm sat here in my grubby garage gear & supposed to be in the garage, welding my trike rear light mounts up. Back soon!

Go 'way then, and leave me and Shaun to our bunny chat!

I think most people who have rabbits miss out on how much fun they are, cos if they're kept in a cage they just want to escape and run away, but if they're free to run around you get to see their personalities!  And as you say, they are fun - apart from one which didn't live very long & I think had something wrong from the start, I've never had a rabbit without a sense of humour!

We had one buck that used to chase Mike round the garden and another which was visited regularly by a local tomcat for purposes which my daughter said turned our garden into a bordello!  And a doe that used to sit on my feet and grunt at me till I picked her up for a cuddle!

we've also got a lop, but the poor bugger is suffering from head tilt at the moment. Its taken us a couple of months nursing to get him fit enough to go for a play in the garden again.

Most of mine have been dwarf lops.  The lops seem to be very affectionate and highly intelligent.  We had one who used to go in and out the catflap - he had to be banned from the living room cos he had a habit of weeing on the settee - we put a board across the kitchen door, and in winter he used to come in and sleep in a box under the kitchen table.  Eventually we did away with the board cos he understood he wasn't allowed any further and just used to sit by the door when he wanted attention.

Most people do not realise how much fun Rabbits can be, spend hours in the summer just sitting watching them play, beats work any day ;D ;D ;D
