before i put the hubs back on to my relaint axle should i put some copper slip on the taper to make them easier to split if i need them of again

In short, no, the tapers should be clean and dry on assembly, or you might find yourself relying on a very small Woodruff key alone for your drive!! Morrag

same set up on a jag /salisbury 4ha axle also fitted to reliant scimitars and they recomend a light coat of anti sieze compound or ,rouge, (there wording not mine )

Well, my hubs were a real bugger to get off, no sign of oil or grease. Don't expect to ever take them off again and the secure ness was reassuring. I'd rather struggle in 10 years than have problems in the next 6 months, so mine went on as I found em, dry!
