I've found a company to fix my leaking caliper www.biggred.co.uk The seal thats leaking is only accessible if you take the piston out and dismantle the handbrake mechanism. To complicated for me so they will do it for £20.
They sell reconditioned calipers or the seal kits so you can do it yourself or you can send them your calipers for a re-build. They also can electroplate, chrome or give them a polymer coating.

Chrome? Oooh, shiny stuff! That's tempting! Wonder what colours they electroplate in?

Was only thinking this afternooon we haven't had an injury of the week for quite a while. Was your turn.
Ask 'em how much it'd cost to strip 'em down, chrome 'em & put 'em back together.

You can e-mail them at biggred@fsmail.net
Would ask my caliper to ask them when it gets there but we're not talking since it attacked me.

"When trikes go bad".  What do you expect when you keep it chained up in the dark for years on end.

Ah, that must be what's the matter with mine!  Except I haven't had to chain it up cos it wouldn't go.......

Put the new battery on - turned over lovely!  Put the fuel tap on 'prime' cos it's not been run for ages and it even started!  Went for a ride round the block................

Oh dear.  Only got halway before it died.  But then I discovered it would run ok on prime, just not with the tap in the on or reserve positions.  The vacuum pipe is on and in good nick, gotta be the tap then!  Got a repair kit on order now - new diaphragm and various little seals.

But it'll have to run on 'prime' when I go the Fat Armadillo run on Sunday - lets hope I remember to turn the fuel off when I park up - forgot the other day and it pissed petrol all over the place!

Nah, this one belongs to a guy in Poole. Seen it at the weekly Poole Harbour bike meets a few times. Certainly mimics Sandy's stretched style though & as Sandy based his on mine I guess it's an indirect Manky clone!  Smiley

I liked Sandy's trike. Don't like many trikes.

Sure it's not his? -I believe he sold it a while back.

'Tis possible then. If so, the new owner's added a different tank & sheet metalwork around the headlight.

I just wondered because I'm sure it was sold, but didn't know where or who to. Sandy and Taff were marketing plans for trikes along the lines of the Reliant a while back, so it might have some connection there. The next time I speak to Mark I'll ask him what happened to the trike.
