It started again last night at around 2000hrs and is still at it, not as heavy as it was at the weekend though.
The estate where i live doesn`t get gritted, although i`m certain they used to do it about 20yrs ago. It`s always a struggle to get out and onto the main roads, and then a struggle to get home again.
Luckily I have access to grit at work and am able to do my driveway and the road outside the house, it`s not perfect but does make starting off and stopping a little bit safer!

 Smiley
We're issued with those spikey things you put over your shoes. They grip the ice quite well, but are lethal as soon as you step on a clear patch of pavement. Lots of older houses around my way, with glazed tiled paths to the front doors. They're like walking on glass. So you have to keep putting the spikes on & taking them off again. More trouble than they're worth. Walking very carefully, watching the ground at every step, gets really tiring after 3 or 4 hours.

well yesterday afternoon, before we had a good old ,dollop, of snow the landy tyre went ,ka,boom, Shocked Shocked ,,it was on to good old ,evil bay,, and i found a goodish set over in hull, so after tea around 7.30pm i set off in the car,to travel 15 miles each way to collect them
it was ok untill i got half way accross the humber bridge on the way back ,, then it was a total ,,white out,, less than 10 miles left to get home and it took me till 10pm. Shocked Shocked Shocked Shocked the only way i could tell where the road was over ferriby top was to wind the window down a little and look for the hedge,,,
