Couldn't agree more, its being there that matters.

A show is one thing - a Bike rally is a BIKE rally, and I don't even like going in the car. It's just that being older and less fit than I once was, I have to be practical sometimes.

Ah, that's where we differ young Bobbi. I don't do rallies. Hate camping, as has been well documented. One day pub shows are my favourites. Have to agree with you, turning up at a weekend camping rally for bikers in a car unless with a good reason isn't really on is it. I'd call myself a lifelong biker, but for everyday commuting, given the choice of getting soaked on a bike or sitting in a nice warm car with the heater on, I'll choose the car every time!

As I remember, Manky, you enjoyed camping on Dartmoor many years ago. Specially when you crawled out of your tent after some of the local bovine population had passed through camp

How could I forget! Think that's one of the occasions that put me off it for life! Camped for years with various members of the gone but not forgotten Fox & Hounds MCC, but never really enjoyed the living under canvas bit. It was just a necessary part of escaping real life to go on a weekend's adventure with me mates. These days I'd much rather stay in a nice comfy B & B!

Flap survived a whole week in France with the entire Flappy family in a tent recently. Personally I like my home comforts too much!

I think I oughta win the lottery -but it ain't NEVER gonna happen. Mainly cos I severely limit my chances of winning by not actually buying a ticket.

The lottery is a scam. When I worked at Cranwell there were 40 drivers and we all paid our quids every week. We usually had 3 numbers come up each week and about once in 6 to 8 weeks 4 numbers came up. Not bad for £160 per month outlay

I used to win a tenner quite regularly when it first started & once had 4 numbers, which netted me something stupid like about 70 quid. Not very fair when you think of the odds against you for getting 4. My parents win 50 or a 100 quid virtually every month on the Premium Bonds & regularly get a couple of hundred a month between them. In fact if they don't win it they think the letter's gone astray. My brother Steve's had a single Premium Bond since he was born & never won a thing.
