wow
cant believe its been that long since i posted.
anyway as i have been saying for a while and at the basingstoke show my trike needed painting. well i finally pulled my finger out and last week i done it.
only thing is now i have im not sure i am happy with the colour
.
had some problems with the paint too which has meant that when i finished it the paint moved so even if i want to keep the colour i have to redo the tank.
will show where i am now but be warned it may well all be coming off and changing
sanded down the various parts
my new trike project
my new trike project
my new trike project
then coated in primer

then a white under coat

then some coats of yellow
my new trike project
then faded in some orange. if i do this again i will be skipping this bit as the orange all but disappeared.
my new trike project
then masked the parts up
my new trike project
my new trike project
then comes the nervous bit
spray on the grey and sit back and watch
my new trike project

then peel back the masking
my new trike project
my new trike project
my new trike project

then i lacquered it all. after this is when disaster struck. lent the tank over to sort out the fuel tap and its seems some of the paint had not finished going off and it moved
. not sure if this is part of the reason i am not as happy as i hoped to be with the colour but the grey is not as dark as i hoped.
my new trike project

my new trike project
couldnt do anything about it straight away as needed trike to get to an event so here it is all back on
my new trike project

anyway as i said not sure if it will stay this colour but it will have to do for the minute as i dont have the time or the paint to do it again straight away.
