As some of you may know I have been fortunate enough to have been given some new toys to play with at work.

The first of which is a 3D rapid prototyping machine, so with out further waffle here's some of what it can do,


This started out a a load of plaster and was printed out one layer at a time 11 layers to the mm.

The model is about 5" long and took about an hour to print, then a hour to dry, an about 20 mins to blow all the powder off it.

has the texture of a sugar cube needs to be sanded down and painted.

Only just got this toy am still learning how to finish the parts it produces.

Tis impressive to watch it at work, very simple idea but the engineering that must have gone into it is immense. Practice makes perfect Doc, at least you can sit back and 'Av a banana while it prints all manor of impressive stuff.
