850s ran SU carbs like yours. 750s had Zeniths, plus the engine number will feature the number 85 if it's an 850 & 75 if it's a 750.

Quote
Were the 750cc engines able to run unleaded or would I need to get a LRP fuel or inline lead cat?

Now I know I have a 850 Grin
Do they use leaded or unleaded fuel??

if you have another tank, with a cap, laying around it may be cheaper to cut out and weld in into the zx. make sure tanks are well drained/vented/filled with water to eliminate a big bang.

I've always used unleaded in all my Reliant engines, with no apparent problems. Used to use a lead substitute additive but it didn't seem to make any difference so I eventually stopped using it.

i think they only use the additive in engines with cast/steel heads? alloy heads will have hardened steel valve seats.

I though I'll take a punt on it for the starting price and won,

Between me and my friend that the 3 one we have now, so fingers crossed between all the bit we have we can make a fully working one
Might even look into that mod some of you have done by moving the lever over to the left side,

A bit fiddly getting the roll pins out that hold it in place, but makes the pedal linkages a whole lot easier. Looks like you're cornering the market in trike parts!
