3 wheels on my wagon...

WWW
« Reply #90 on: May 15, 2012, 10:55:01 PM »

Hi all, had a dig about to find this old thread. The trike's still on going and being used. As some eagled eyed Monkeys might have noticed I have now got some arm rests (left one swivels) on the front seat now. It's also got a remote servo to assist the rear brakes, sitting under the rear right seat, that works a treat. The rear right caliper piston was sticky so I replaced the whole caliper with a new bargain find on fleabay. (photos to follow)...and also as was pointed out this last Sunday I'm in need of a new front tyre. Although the tyre if only 2 years old with barely 1,500 miles and loads of tread still, it's cracking very badly all the way round. I ordered a new tyre today with a new tube and will be fitting it asap..

Good to see you're still on 3 wheels Bazz. We get quite a few disabled readers who don't necessarily join as forum members. So any info on adaptions you've made to make riding easier might help someone else out.

Yep...maybe I'll do a little walk wheel-around the trike, explaining a few things in a vid...

An update;

Last year I went over to see Byzmax and we strengthend the front seat, angled it back a few degrees for comfort and added armrests for safety and something to grab when getting on/off...making the left one swivel 90 degrees to let me slide on and off;

(Billi decided they needed gaffer tape wound around them...LOL  Grin )

I had to replace the tyre as the Avon Distanzia cracked all the way around, even though it had low mileage  Angry  I got myself a Metzeler Karoo II;

And while I was spending some time on it, I fitted a new airfilter, dizzy and rotor.

I decided that I wanted to take my 3 wheeled electric wheelchair with me to the Rat Show this weekend, so for the first time I hooked up my small bike trailer earlier last week. The trailer very quickly hit the exhaust   Shocked

...and quiet easily hit the tyre the other way...so I had to space out the tow ball and extend the trailer by 11".

While I was at it, I sorted out a way of locking the trailer on..

My Nans husband, my Grandad Bill, who I named my daughter Billi after, took me for my first ever bike rides when I was about 8 or 9....and let me have my first try at riding one of his bikes in the front garden. He just smiled and chuckled when I crashed into the front door  Grin  I come from a long line of loonies  Shocked
