Lets forget the solenoid for now, I think we can safely say its dead.

Time to look at the switch wires,
You need a maximum of 4 connections on the switch (inc accessories, which i`m not interested in) 1 wire feeds in, 3 feed out.


Main feed in to switch which i assume is the large brown wire that comes from the live side of the solenoid?
There should only be 1 wire on this terminal

Feed out to the coil, this connection should be live in the `on` position and live in the `start` position
There may be up to 3 wires on this terminal, 1 feeding the coil, 1 feeding the ignition lamp and 1 feeding a fuse

Feed out to the solenoid exciter terminal, this connection should be live only in the start position, this we know is your Blue wire, and we know it works
There should be only 1 wire on this terminal

Been down in the Valleys since Friday, doing my daughters decorating!
The new Solenoid came today, she started first time.
