I'm having a stainless steel exhaust built for my trike at the moment, hopefully followed by a similar one for Taz's trike & a set of stainless headers for my Pop.
The work's being handled by Tino, of Tino's Rod & Kustom in Mitcham, Surrey. Tino's an old school, back street rod builder -which isn't meant in a derrogatory way at all. Just a very down to earth, no nonsense builder, churning out the kind of cars that I remember from my youth. Cars that are built to be driven & not draped in high tech billet parts & trailered to shows.
Tube chassis & roll cages are his speciality. His workshop's stuffed full of part built cars. He also has a soft spot for Pops & Prefects.

This is his own daily driver -a V8 powered Zephyr he's owned for over 20 years.
He wanted a high riding stance but didn't like the rear fins & lights being so tall. So he cut the bodywork below the rear window & "drooped" the entire back end by 3 or 4 inches. Not noticable until he points it out. It's a 4 door but the rear door handles have been "shaved" off to give the appearance of a 2 door.
A lovely traditional British rod. Hopefully we'll get a write-up on it soon.

On our last visit, as the light began to fade, he took me out the back of the workshop & showed me some of the other toys he has stored in the yard. Half a dozen Consuls & Zephyrs, at least 3 of which are being broken for spares -take note Dave & Janie. Also an old 70s flip-fronted Pop, several Pilots etc. A gold mine of old British tin. A tin mine I guess.

Sorry about the fuzzy pics, but the light was fading rapidly & digital cameras are cr*p in those conditions..

One of Tino's personal favourites. This gorgeous break down truck is huge. Still wearing it's original paintwork from Gary, Texas.

Back in the workshop, he's also working on a stainless exhaust system for a radical 1500 Kwacka chop, built by local boys, "8 ball choppers".

The chop will be fitted with a matching chopped, bullet shaped aluminium sidecar.
8 Ball farm all their chrome & powder-coating out to a company in Poland. Far cheaper than this country apparently, due to Poland's ...relaxed, approach to issues such as health & safety, employee regulations & the use of chemicals. They put their bike parts on a coach at Victoria Station, then they're sent back a week or so later.
