We is off on our hols

Well, back to normal, (ish), again now. Safely home, all the laundry's done & the rucksacks packed away.
We're hoping to go to America next year if we can afford it, but this trip's proved there's so much to see & do right here on our own little island. In 10 days we covered over 2000 miles & discovered everything from towering mountains to wide unspoilt sandy beaches. The roads in Scotland are fantastic -how can they maintain them so well in the middle of nowhere when the English transport department can't repair the potholes in our motorways down here? Seems odd now to see road signs in English instead of Gaelic.
It doesn't always rain, (I've had 4 previous holidays in Scotland & enjoyed warm sunshine every time), but being a mountainouus region it changes very quickly. We saw plenty of motorcycles on the roads & a couple of trikes. Providing you went prepared with decent riding clothes, the Highlands would make an amazing place to tour by bike.
