I mentioned in my Pop build thread that I'm on holiday for a couple of days, so instead of posting there, I'll show you here instead.
I've nipped up to the Scottish Highlands for a few days -well, not quite "nipped". I was in the car for over 12 hours, instead of the usual 9 or 10. Endless roadworks & accidents.
I'm tucked up in a very nice little hotel in the village of Kinlochleven now though, on the shores of a loch.
Met some of the local wildlife earlier when I went for a stroll to stretch my legs after the journey & a huge red stag, as tall as I am, stepped out of the woods beside the path, not 6 feet in front of me. He wasn't fazed at all, but frightened the life out of me.

Won't bore you too much with my holiday snaps -I'm determined to just enjoy this trip, without recording it, but this is passing through the Bridge of Orchy, near Glencoe this evening, as the sun went down. This is why I love it up here.

To give you some idea of scale, that's a steam train, heading for Fort William.
The colours of the mountains in the setting sun were just gorgeous.

Wow. That area is surely one of the most loveliest of places and catching it in that light has really reinforced that. Enjoy your rest.  Smiley

Great scenery and brilliant roads right on my doorstep .
My wife and I regularly do day trips up through the Trossachs and on to Oban and/or Fort William .

As you are up that way,you could always take a stroll up Ben Nevis. But make sure you keep your Trossachs warm. Roll Eyes Roll Eyes

Smiley The roads are fantastic. Halfway up a mountain & they're wide & smooth & perfectly maintained. Shame they can't manage that in the middle of Basingstoke. Only trouble is the constant stream of motorhomes & huge logging lorries that appear around blind bends doing 90mph.

Day 2. Drove as far North as I could before the light started to go. Got as far as Gairloch. Would like to go further, but it's a bit hairy driving back in pitch darkness. Huge deep blue skies, crystal clear lochs that stretch as far as you can see, mountains of every colour, forests, waterfalls, castles.
Beautiful, beautiful, beautiful.

MacDonalds Hotel -not a burger in sight, but I thoroughly recommend the stew.

Eilean Donan Castle at Kyle of Lochalsh.
I just randomly drove as far as I could before the light started to go.
Around every bend is another stunning view/photo opportunity, so it takes ages to get anywhere.
