Erm, 45 degrees -ish. We've never actually measured any of our front ends, (oo-err missus!). They just sort of get dictated by the components we're building around.

Who was asking about wheel hub adaptors? They're fitted on the Reliant axle in that photo to change from 4" PCD to 4 1/4" Ford pattern.

Who's is that one? I remember seeing it on one of the forums but not who posted it. Triker Pete's a bit of an expert at producing those graduated bends, (lots & lots of little bends), with a simple hydraulic bender. Takes a practiced eye & lots of patience -so counts me out.

It was someone on 100%, i've got all the destructions for bending the tube like that mark out a center line down the tube, find the middle, measure and mark out the tube in 1" segments, then do a couple of pumps on the hydrolic bender on each 1" mark alternating sides, ie, either side of the center mark, the best way to do it is in a tube roller, but not got one of those and the nearest one i know of is in Bristol.

Well just did the first tube, the one that goes across the axle from mount to mount, I've measured at key points along the tube and and all the measurments are even, although at some points it don't look like the curve is even, i'll post a pic so you can see what i mean. Guess it's time i said hello

Thanks Saddlebags,
It's the XJ900 from 100%biker, don't know if it's on the magazine forum as well.
The tube above is going to be cut up and used for the short curves in the frame,it's not good enough for the long stretch across the axle mounts.
I've started on another tube and this is looking a lot better, i found out where i went wrong, i was giving to many pumps on the bender per segment, seems to work a lot better if you only give it 2 pumps per inch then go back to the middle and give another 2 pumps per inch and so on until you get the curve you want.
I'll post a pic of tube number 2 soon as it's done so you can all compare the differance.

Looking good. I guess the last six inches or so can't be bent cos it drops out of the bender, so to get a continuous curve along the whole tube you'd have to cut it overlength then trim it to size afterwards. Ooh, lots of potential for miscalculation! Good luck Sir.

That would be the ideal way to do it, just took a close up look at the rear frame tube and going by the 1" markings on it, he didn't take the curve right to the end. The tube i'm doing now is looking a lot better, but still needs a few extra pumps on one side to get the curve even, this is defnetly not the way to do it if you want a quick frame build. Oh boy what have i started 2nd attempt Guess it's time i said hello

Ha, ha, ha!! Welcome to the joyous World of frame building! How many times have I said the same thing! We could slap a frame together in a few days -it takes bloomin' months to make it look pretty.
