The regular readers here will know that for the past 4 or 5 years, we've been sponsoring a chimpanzee at MonkeyWorld, the ape rescue centre, near wareham in Dorset. We sponsor Micky the chimpanzee. In return, we get a ticket which gives free entry for one day for up to 30 people, giving us an excuse for a bit of a forum get-together at the park every April.
It started as a bit of a joke really, but I'm proud to say that in that time we've raised over £1000 towards the care of the animals there.

Well, it's adoption renewal time again folks. We donate through the group sponsorship scheme, which means we need to raise a minimum of £120. Each year so far, those forum members who want to get involved have given £10 each. It's purely voluntary, no pressure on anyone to take part & the free day out for you & your family or friends is the only reward we offer.
However, times are very definitely hard at the moment & money's tight for everyone.
So- what do you guys want to do? Are we up for this again this year? Or should we retire gracefully, having done our bit? I may run the forum, (ha, ha, harr!!), but it's you lot that make it what it is, so it's your choice. The present sponsorship needs to be renewed by the 16th of October, so we've got a month to decide & come up with the cash if we're continuing.
Taz, (Mrs Manky), & I will bung in a tenner each, so we need to find another 100 quid minimum if we're carrying on with this. 10 forumers at 10 quid each? 20 of you putting in a fiver each? If you want to go ahead, we'll start a list.
Opinions please chaps.

Paypal payments marked as a gift shouldn't incur a fee Tim.  Wink
Alright, hang onto your pennies for now gents & we'll see if we can raise another 8 contributors. Appreciate your generosity.

I'm in for a tenner again - might make it to the meet next year as I probably won't be going to the rally that usually clashes!

Love you lot.  Kiss
Right then. As I said, absolutely no pressure on anyone to take part in this, but let's start a list. If you'd like to join in, just copy & paste the list into a reply & add your name & the amount you'd like to donate to the bottom.
We usually arrange the MonkeyWorld trip for the last Sunday in April, before the bike/car rally/show season gets underway. Although the group ticket entitles us to free entry for 30 people, we've never managed more than a dozen or so, so bring your missus & the kids along for a free day out. If we manage to muster more than 30, priority for free entry would obviously go to those who've contributed, but all are very welcome to join us.
We'll keep this list running for a couple of weeks then & once we've established we can raise enough, will need your pennies by the start of October, (I'll PM you the address nearer the time). Thank you people.  Grin
