Bet he's tried wearing it though.
Is that Mrs Flap's best dining table? I take it she's out then. It's way too clean to be any of our workbenches.
Is it just a wide angle lens or is that shaft bent?!

Hi Andy. I also thought it looked a little bent, now wonder the parts were cheap. Grin Roll Eyes

All fixed now. Went over Nigel's and welded a longer narrower bit of metal onto an allready long and narrow prodding stick to poke and push the broken half shaft out from the axle. Manky poked and lifted the broken bit with a screwdriver at one end of the axle tube whilst I shoved the prodding stick in the other end of the axle tube and hit it with a mallet and out it came, twisted and broken. Putting the new one in was so easy, only took a few minutes, tighten a dozen bolts, job done  Smiley

Actually, thinking about it, I'm quite suprised I didn't get poked in the eye with the busted shaft. Squinting down one end of an axle tube while you're at the other with a long steel rod & a hammer wasn't the brightest of ideas.
How the hell do they make Landy parts so cheap? An inch thick hardened steel shaft, 2 feet long, machined with splines at each end, 10 quid.
The little shiny polished ally hub cap thingies that look so out of place on Flap's grubby old wagon, 92 pence. The plastic bags they came in probably cost more than that.

Funny how it's always me doing the holding & him doing the hitting!
Yup, an easy job once we'd welded together all the offcuts of steel rod we could find to make a long enough prodding stick.

It's Flap's employer too. He's employed there but doesn't do any work.
