Does anyone know of a good plating shop, preferably down here in the south? A neighbour needs a vintage windscreen frame re plating.
Thanks.

So I have to ask myself, when I was looking for a chrome plater, why the bloody hell didn't I ask here first??
Prize plonker that's why.
Recommendations etc are what forums excel at.
Oh no. Instead I trawled the web looking for platers and ended up posting some items to a company in the back of beyond, well Birmingham really, when Alton is barely 30 minutes away and would make a nice little run on the trike.
Admittedly the company I choose has a cracking reputation but I'd still of rather deal with someone face to face. Lesson learnt I hope.

Sadly, new European legislation being considered at the moment could mean the end of smaller plater's, due to the constraints the new laws would place, regarding using and storing the chemicals involved in the chroming process, or indeed any other form of plating...Common Market anyone?  Cry :'(Morrag

Just been told the same, the bloke in Plymouth is calling it a day if they do. He has lost a packet since they took away his galvanizing plant for the same reason, The only plant for us is Cardiff, but he makes a living on anodising and plating but with engineering in the decline he is scrapping by.
