 There actually have been fireworks going off around here for weeks now. Apparently some supermarkets are selling "low noise" ones this year, which won't please the locals here as they seem to buy the biggest, loudest explosives they can find. Bring back the days of 2 jumping Jacks & a Catherine wheel in a biscuit tin! |

Talking with the locals complaining about the rise of the American style of Halloween out here nowadays 😁
They already have a fiesta dedicated to the Dead every year so don't need to celebrate it with trick or treaters? Ive a feeling that Mrs stinkey will be decorating the olive trees in the garden this year 😂🤣😎

I was in New York a couple of weeks ago & there were empty shop units being turned into temporary Halloween stores -entire supermarkets of trick or treat costumes.
I also went to Salem, near Boston, where the witch trials took place. With Halloween only a couple of weeks away it was wall to wall witch stuff in the shops.
British kids want to do it cos they've seen it on American TV shows & retailers see it as a huge new source of revenue.

I'm not a big fan of Christmas anyway, but greedy retailers hawking festive goods months in advance kill the season of goodwill completely for me.
