It'll be a breeze mate! Don't get downhearted if it doesn't pass first time though -a lot of vehicles don't. Took 3 attempts to get my truck through. As I said on the phone last night, if they fail it on anything, ask their advice on what you need to do to correct it. They're not trying to keep customs off the roads, just to make sure the ones that are, are legal & safe. You've just got to grit your teeth & plod your way through the bureaucratic maze. Building it's the easy part!
The very best of Manky luck to you Sir.  Wink

That's a shame. Sad
Never mind, now you know what needs changing to get it through next time Smiley.
The filler cap is just a matter of fitting a rubber donut around it for the test Wink

Wondered about that ..so the filler was too high on the bike type tank? Im surprised they didnt go for a ..ahem, cough,' long tea break 'while you fixed the probs! Do you have to pay the full amount again for a retest ? Edges could be covered with tape, even the cap bound in tape!

PM me your address and I'll send one of the donuts I used. The leading edge of the mudguards can be covered in rubber/plastic edging/u channel and no they wont accept a bit of tape.
Think you have to pay the full amount again, but not certain about that.
What was wrong with the reflectors?

There's technical terms for different quantities of fail items, yours comes under ' bugger all' , well done !!

On car tests you get a reduced rate retest and 6 months to sort , don't know if that applies with m/cs / trikes ?

What station was that as a matter of interest ?

As you say kapri, failed on nothing of any great consequence.  I was wrong, according to booklet- SVA4 (M), The retest fee is £17.00 so that's good news.

cheers guys. yeah filler cap was about 3mm to high  Roll Eyes rod. cheers ON will do. have been looking at windscreen edging, the stuff for motorbike winsheilds. looks like push on with a touch of glue could do it. the reflectors were not reflective enough apparently. will get some more and pop them on. the only edge that will take some sorting is the one on the forks. he didnt like the edge on the arm/lug that must secure some fairing on the original bike. will find some kind of rubber bung to go over it maybe. and have to make some sheilding for between the fuel pump and ht leads, just incase of a leak and spark.
kapri is right, i have till september to sort the issues, defo will not take till then to sort ha ha, and the retest of the issues raised will cost  £17. once i have sorted the issues he said to phone up and fingers crossed it could be retested in 2 to 3 days.station was yeading just off the A312. nice bloke called dave was the tester with an apprentice lad being shown what to look for. he asked if i was an electrition because the wiring was so neat  Grin
